When you\u2019re looking for treatment options to help you look and feel your best, it can be overwhelming \u2013 in today\u2019s world, there are so many products and treatments to rejuvenate skin \u2013 how do you know which would create the look you envision? <\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Cosmetic injectables<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">BOTOX, Xeomin, and Dysport and dermal fillers all fall into the realm of cosmetic injectables. While they\u2019re both used to treat the visible signs of aging, their uses are very different. These non-invasive treatments can help soften lines and creases, loss of volume, areas of skin laxity, and to restore the underlying scaffolding of your skin. Which treatment is best for you is based on your skin type and quality and what you hope to accomplish.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Types of wrinkles: Dynamic and static<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Different cosmetic injectables are used to treat different types of wrinkles. Not all wrinkles are created equal!<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Dynamic wrinkles are caused by repeated muscle contractions just beneath the surface of the skin. You can find these on your forehead, between the eyebrows, and surrounding your eyes. <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Static wrinkles are typically the result of sun exposure (this is one of the reasons why wearing sunscreen is so important). Other factors that lead to static wrinkles include smoking, pollution, poor nutrition, or genetic makeup.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Wrinkle folds are caused by a thinning and weakening of the skin structure, resulting in deeper creases such as nasolabial folds (from the nose to corners of the mouth, or smile lines). <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Is BOTOX right for me? <\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">BOTOX falls into the category of cosmetic injectables known as neurotoxins or neuromodulators. When injected into the facial muscles, BOTOX interrupts the signals from your central nervous system, which causes them to contract. The product temporarily paralyzes these muscles, smoothing dynamic wrinkles and causing the muscles to relax. The smoothing effect not only leaves you looking younger but prevents movement in these muscles, it prevents new lines from forming. BOTOX may not be the right neurotoxin for everyone though, so we also offer Xeomin and Dysport.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Should I get treatment with dermal fillers?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Dermal fillers such as Juv\u00e9derm and Radiesse are used to treat static wrinkles and wrinkle folds. As your skin begins to age, it can no longer produce collagen and elastin as it did in your younger years. These essential compounds form the underlying scaffolding of your skin, giving it volume and a youthful, firm, supple quality. As you produce less collagen and elastin, this causes the skin to sag and droop. Dermal fillers are injected strategically to reinforce this underlying structure, lifting areas that need a boost, and filling in static wrinkles. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">What will work best for me?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">Which type of cosmetic injectable you need will be determined by which kind of wrinkles you have and what signs of aging you wish to treat.
