What is KYBELLA?

KYBELLA is a synthetic form of bile acid that is created by the body called deoxycholic acid. This acid can kill fat cells when injected into targeted areas beneath the chin resulting in a more defined and aesthetically appealing chin and jawline.

Am I a candidate for KYBELLA?

If you are self-conscious of the fat beneath your chin and are over the age of 18, you may be a good candidate for KYBELLA. You should openly discuss your health and any current medical conditions during your consultation, including pregnancy or plans for pregnancy, any bleeding issues or use of medications, especially blood thinners. You must also disclose if you have had facial procedures in the past or plan to have them in the future, as this can affect if KYBELLA is right for you.

What are the risks of KYBELLA?

While KYBELLA is a non-invasive treatment option, there are still some minimal risks associated.

How many sessions of KYBELLA will I need?

The number of KYBELLA sessions needed is dependent on your particular desires, and the current amount of fat that needs to be removed. While some patients only need one session, most do need multiple treatments up to a maximum allowed number of six sessions. These should be scheduled at least one month apart to see the full results after each treatment before another session.

What is the recovery from KYBELLA like?

KYBELLA is a non-invasive procedure, making a recovery relatively easy. You can return to work immediately after your session. However, you will experience some swelling under the chin that can last for a couple of weeks.

Is KYBELLA permanent?

KYBELLA does destroy the fat cells in the area where injected. These fat cells are then eliminated by the body, making KYBELLA a long-term solution once treatment sessions have been completed.
